Target audience

Our resources are targeted towards anyone looking to develop or improve sport programmes for diverse young people. They are therefore relevant to National Sport Organisations, Regional Sport Organisations, clubs, schools, recreation centres and other sporting facilities looking to better engage diverse young people. Connect2sport resources are also relevant to any grass roots community organisations wanting to develop or improve sport programmes for diverse young people.

Using Connect2sport resources

The purpose of our resources is to capture best practice. They do not promote one model or a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Instead our resources encourage a personalised strategy that best meets specific local need. The resources are best used as a starting point for dialogue and as a prompt for asking the right questions.

We actively encourage use of Connect2sport resources. However, we request that any such use is correctly attributed, referenced and linked back to this site.

Contributors

Connect2sport resources represent a 3 year collaborative partnership between Sport New Zealand, Auckland Council, Sport Auckland, Auckland Football Federation, Auckland Badminton Association, diverse communities, and local delivery partners. Feedback and input from diverse communities, sport organisations and facility managers have helped create these resources. The resources are therefore collaboratively authored tools, gathering promising practices from grassroots organisations working hard to create sport programmes for diverse young people.
